Mme LaFleur was a project at the Apple Developer Academy in Naples, Italy. The project’s task was to team up with an unknown person and create an app about him/her.
The person I interviewed is a woman. She’s born on April 16th, is a smoker and loves red wine. I learned that she has a sister who was the most important relationship in her life until a recent fight that resulted in a toughened relationship between the two. During the time I spent with the woman, I learned a few facts: she has difficulties in decision making, she has a big shelf with books and enjoys the piano.
In order to finish the story you need to complete a riddle that’s based on the story between her and her sister. The app is created to feel like a short book and is designed to make you scroll. You can find some key elements about her right at the start, such as her birthday, favourite colour and a cigarette. The difficulties she faces when making decisions are reflected in the app by unpleasant sounds, by having to rotate the device in order to keep reading, and by changes in the interaction. The app is underlined by music.
